Hey! My name’s Iver.
I grew up in small town in North Dakota, then went to Colorado State where I studied Business and Sustainable Food Systems. After College, I worked as a food writer, radio show host, recipe developer, and published a food guidebook series, “The Maui Foodist Bucket List” and “The Fort Collins Foodist Bucket List.” Along the way I tried out a few random things, including: an (unsuccessful) attempt to start a postcard revolution with “Project Postcard,” a drinking card game (cleverly) named “Drink,” a board game “Fate’s Folly,” and spent a couple years doing the van life and trying new things with “Do New 52.”
Around 2017, I got asked to officiate a friend’s wedding, had a great time with it, and decided to put out a Craigslist add for my “Adventure Officiant” services. Spiraling (as these things tend to) I soon started officiating weddings full time. A couple years later, I started my wedding planning company “Colorado MicroWeddings,” and have since had the privilege of helping hundreds of couples plan beautifully-simple weddings in the rocky mountains :)
Today, I currently plan small-weddings and elopements full time! …While I secretly plot to create a decentralized non-profit website to overthrow the blatantly predatory traditional wedding industrial complex (that has somehow convinced us that we MUST spend $30k+ on a wedding).
I also continue to work on my board game and card game (stay tuned!), prototype a new style of boxing headgear that would allow me to enjoy my favorite workout (without getting brain damage), and have a vigilante-themed Young Adult book: “Taking Back,” that is technically “finished” —but in a very real sense, nowhere near finished.
